how to take care of a diamond engagement ring?
my bf just given me an engagement solitaire Diamond Ring and i love it so much. i wear it all the time even when i sleep and sometimes i hit the ring on the wall. i noticed that the tip of 2 prongs doesnt touch to the diamond now. it is a 4 Prong Setting.
i tried to move it but its not moving. is it possible that the diamond is loose?
Yes, you need to get your prongs checked immediately or it’s very likely you may lose your stone. Go to the place where he bought it, which should provide this service for free, or find a jewelry store with an on-site jeweler so you don’t have to leave your ring to be fixed (call ahead!)
Also please make sure that your ring is insured. You will first need to have it appraised by a certified diamond grader (preferable NOT at the store where he bought it) and then contact your insurance company to add the ring to your homeowner’s or renter’s policy.
